How we do it

CUERVA, a Spanish Energy Operator required a predictive system based on consumption and production patterns to help them avoid congestion and overvoltage events in the grid. Barbara facilitated the Edge Platform to deploy AI algorithm for demand and generation prediction and enabled MLOps techniques to retrain algorithm in the Edge.

Challenge

The separation of hardware and software in electrical equipment has significant implications in terms of design, development, and maintenance. The main reason behind this separation is to allow for greater flexibility, upgradability, and ease of maintenance in substations.

Solution

The full virtualization of the Transmission Substation was accomplished by deploying an Edge Node and some edge apps with Barbara Platform for data monitoring and processing.
