By 2050, ARGOS aims to achieve carbon neutrality a bold commitment requiring innovation and transformation across its operations. The company’s Digital Manufacturing department is at the heart of this effort, tasked with centralizing digital technology initiatives to optimize cement production, enhance equipment maintenance, and modernize control systems.
Argos had 3 main objectives:
1. Access to Real-Time Variable Control ARGOS sought precise, real-time control over critical variables in the pyroprocess.
2. Reduce Fuel Cost: Fuel consumption is a major cost driver in the pyroprocess. ARGOS aimed to optimize its control loops to significantly cut heavy fuel expenses, contributing to more sustainable and cost-effective operations.
3. Scalability: The vision was clear: to deploy these solutions across all ARGOS plants globally, creating a standardized approach to efficiency and innovation.
Barbara’s proposed solution included the software infrastructure composed by Barbara ́s Cybersecure OS (operating system) deployed on a virtual machine and the Barbara Panel a cloud-based single console to deploy, execute, and run automatic fine-tuning of applications and algorithms, at scale.
